Directions
Instructions: . Painting Conditions: Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50ºF (10ºC) and 90ºF (32ºC) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist. Preparation: Remove loose paint and rust with wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry. . Priming: Use of a Rust-Oleum Engine Primer provides superior adhesion and hiding and is especially recommended when applying Rust-Oleum Engine Enamel to bare metal. Painting: Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. Shake often during use. Hold can 10-16" from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Note: Engine Enamel features an advanced spray system that allows you to spray at any angle, even upside down for those hard to reach areas. A comfort spray tip with wider finger pad reduces fatigue caused by continuous spraying. Dry & Recoat Times: based on 70ºF - 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to the touch in 20 minutes, to handle in 1 hour. Apply a second coat or Clear coat within 1 hour or after 24 hours. Wait 7 days for paint to fully cure. Clean-up: Wipe off tip before storing. Clean up wet paint with Xylol or Mineral Spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pickup. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor. Clogging: If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem. Squeeze and Pull
